The firmware file ath10k/WCN3990/hw1.0/wlanmdsp.mbn is platform-specific
(rather than being specific to the WiFi chip itself) and can be used
only on the Qualcomm SDM845 platform and close relatives. Other
platforms (e.g. Qualcomm QCM2290, QRB4210) are going to provie their own
copies of the wlanmdsp.mbn firmware.
As discussed with Kalle, move this file to the platform-specific folder,

The kernel has supported compressed firmware for quite some time. So
let's add a couple of targets to produce that. In practical terms this
means it we'll use ~5x times less space on disk.
Reportedly the amd ucode, needs to be uncompressed _within_ the
initrd in order to work. Using compressed ucode in late load just works.
Ideally this will be addressed by the initrd generators, but considering
the files are tiny in size let's skip the compression.
v2
- commit message, skip compression for files annotated as Raw
v3
- rebase

The Qualcomm SDM845 platform has a modem-less version, called SDA845.
It still has the modem DSP, which is used for WiFi, GNSS, etc. The
firmware in the qcom/sdm845 dir comes from the Thundercomm RB3 board,
which internally has the SDA845 SoC rather than the full SDM845.
The SC8180X platform (not yet added to linux-firmware) started using
modem.mbn and modem_nm.mbn, the latter being used for no-modem
platforms.
Follow this example and rename qcom/sdm845/modem.mbn firmware
file to modem_nm.mbn. This commit adds a compatibility link for now, to
let the device trees to be adapted to this change. It should be removed
when the proper qcom/sdm845/modem.mbn is submitted.

r8188eu from kernel 6.2.5 still works with this new firmware.
This firmware was extracted from the vendor driver v5.2.2.4 from
https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8188eu/blob/v5.2.2.4/hal8188e_t_fw.c
Also, move the entry in WHENCE under the rtl8xxxu driver, because
that's the driver which handles this chip from kernel 6.3 onwards.

Qualcomm drivers have supported non-split firmware since since 2019 in
linux kernel commit 498b98e93900 ("soc: qcom: mdt_loader: Support
loading non-split images"). There are no released devices using the
SC7280 chipset, so there is no need to support legacy split images.
I verified that the non-split image is loadable and that the venus
media capabilities are intact without the split images with a ChromeOS
5.15 kernel.

Qualcomm drivers have supported non-split firmware since since 2019 in
linux kernel commit 498b98e93900 ("soc: qcom: mdt_loader: Support
loading non-split images"). The firmware loader works with either the
split or non-split firmware types. The venus driver for SC7180 currently
loads venus.mdt, not the unified venus.mbn.
This commit removes the non-split images. It adds a link from venus.mdt
to venus.mbn. This retains existing driver compatibility, while gaining
the benefit of reducing size of the deployed files.
I verified this change with on ChromeOS using kernels based on 5.4 and
5.15.

Qualcomm binary files can be published in one of two formats: a split
MDT+Bnn format, consisting of several files, or a squashed MBN format,
consisting of a single ELF file.
Most of Qualcomm binary files (except the venus firmware) are
distributed (in linux-firmware) and used in the MBN format (even if the
original publishing format was MDT), since that requires transfer of a
single file between the userspace and the kernel.
Provide a squashed variant of Qualcomm Adreno a530 ZAP shader. For
backwards compatibility reason the split a530_zap.* files are retained.
They can be removed later, after all users migrate to new file location.

After some discussion with Bjorn, the Qualcomm platform maintainer, it
was agreed to follow the established practice and to inject the SoC name
into the firmware paths.
It is highly unlikely that we are going to run Linux off the existing
ACPI data in these platforms anytime soon. And even if we do so, we'd
have to figure out the file names anyway, as they do not follow the
existing standard names.

- Stability issues when burning FW to gearboxes on modular systems

- Latency of several registers has been improved: PLLP, SFMR, SFN, PEFA,
RATR, MPILM, PPBS, RMPE, RIPS, PTER, SBCTR
- In Spectrum-2 and Spectrum-3, an issue in ECN marking on traffic going
through split ports
- Support of IPv4-to-IPv6 NAT in Spectrum-4
- PTP accuracy improvements on 1Gbps, 25Gbps and 50Gbps ports in Spectrum-1
and 10Gbps port in Spectrum-3
- On Spectrum-2+, fix edge cases of ACL matching IPv6 packets
- On Spectrum-3, an issue with a partial CRC overwrite when timestamp over
CRC is set to UTC and CRC recalculation is disabled
- On Spectrum-1, a possible FW freeze when many (e.g. 70) ports are up, and
shared buffer configuration is applied on the fly

Among others, the following issues are fixed by this release:
- LED configuration and reporting of unplugged cable for external PHY
- Several issues in line card management
- Reading on-die temperature in Spectrum-3
- A deadlock when flapping a 1-Gbps port with PTP shaper enabled

- Issues in InfiniBand MAD messages for virtual IPoIB and for split ports
on Quantum-2
- An issue sending 4K packets on Quantum-2
- An issue in InfiniBand adaptive routing, where packet with a static DLID
received from random port instead of the static port
- An autonegotiation issue in HDR, NDR InfiniBand rates when both peer
ports flap
- A freeze of unmanaged InfiniBand switch on Quantum
- An issue in port initialization when i2c busy flag is left set
- A possible system freeze when attempting to raise a link with an
unsupported speed over optical cable
- An unresponsive firmware due to wrong InfiniBand NDR serdes init
- A race between HW linkup and FW configuration that could cause a FW
freeze
- A fix in raising a link with Finisar DR4 (FTCD4523E2PCM) transceiver on
Spectrum-2 and Spectrum-3 systems after the peer flaps
And the following features are enabled:
- 10Mbase-T speeds for 1GbT ports of the switch
- 200Gbps Link on 4 lane interconnect (NDR200 / HDR data rates)

for Spectrum (13.2010.1232), Spectrum-2 (29.2010.1232) and Spectrum-3
(30.2010.1232).
The following bugs were fixed:
- On Spectrum-3, when cut-through forwarding large frames from a 1Gbps port
to a 100Gbps one, packets would get corrupted.
- Several issues in handling of MPLS on Spectrum-2.
- An issue that caused fast reboot to take longer than 30s.
- An issue with bulk update of FDB where roamed FDB entries were not
updated.
- Maximum MTU reported for Quantum chips was 4222 bytes instead of 4096.
- Packets wrongly discarded due to egress STP filter when VxLAN is
configured.
- On Spectrum-2, on 1Gbps or 10Gbps ports, when congestion occurs, packets
would very rarely get stuck in the chip and cause switch to hang.
- On Spectrum-3, when ECMP has many next hops based on VLAN interfaces
packets may rarely get a wrong VLAN tag and be dropped.
- On Spectrum-3, effective speed of a 400Gbps port would only be 380Gbps
with 1500-byte packets.
- On a switch with an external PHY, attempts to configure PFC are no longer
bounced by FW as unsupported.
- An issue in handling of QinQ packets with EtherType 8100 on Spectrum-3.
- On SN4800, an issue in PCIe gen3 link negotiation instability.
