Linus Torvalds	4546738b58	Unlocalized isspace and friends Do our own ctype.h, just to get the sane semantics: we want locale-independence, _and_ we want the right signed behaviour. Junio C Hamano	215a7ad1ef	Big tool rename. As promised, this is the "big tool rename" patch. The primary differences since 0.99.6 are: (1) git-*-script are no more. The commands installed do not have any such suffix so users do not have to remember if something is implemented as a shell script or not. (2) Many command names with 'cache' in them are renamed with 'index' if that is what they mean. There are backward compatibility symblic links so that you and Porcelains can keep using the old names, but the backward compatibility support is expected to be removed in the near future. Linus Torvalds	4e81304afc	git-convert-cache: fix up mode conversion The old mode conversion was not only complex, it also refused to change the length of a mode, which made it fragile. By moving the mode conversion around a bit, we can not only simplify it, it also ends up being more powerful. Linus Torvalds	3c249c9506	Add "get_sha1()" helper function. This allows the programs to use various simplified versions of the SHA1 names, eg just say "HEAD" for the SHA1 pointed to by the .git/HEAD file etc. For example, this commit has been done with git-commit-tree $(git-write-tree) -p HEAD instead of the traditional "$(cat .git/HEAD)" syntax.	20 years ago
