Jeff King	82ebb0b6ec	add test_cmp function for test scripts Many scripts compare actual and expected output using "diff -u". This is nicer than "cmp" because the output shows how the two differ. However, not all versions of diff understand -u, leading to unnecessary test failure. This adds a test_cmp function to the test scripts and switches all "diff -u" invocations to use it. The function uses the contents of "$GIT_TEST_CMP" to compare its arguments; the default is "diff -u". Junio C Hamano	c1beba5b47	git-apply --whitespace=fix: fix whitespace fuzz introduced by previous run When you have more than one patch series, an earlier one of which tries to introduce whitespace breakages and a later one of which has such a new line in its context, "git-apply --whitespace=fix" will apply and fix the whitespace breakages in the earlier one, making the resulting file not to match the context of the later patch. A short demonstration is in the new test, t4125. Many scripts compare actual and expected output using
"diff -u". This is nicer than "cmp" because the output shows
how the two differ. However, not all versions of diff

This adds a test_cmp function to the test scripts and
